Local police have detained 15 people in the murder of a truck driver on Monday in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir police are interrogating all those taken into custody. A truck driver was shot dead by militants at Srimal in Shopian district at 8 pm on Monday. The killed driver is described as Sharif Khan and was a resident of Bharatpur district in Rajasthan.

It is being told that he came to Kashmir to load apples. Itis being told that one of the 2 terrorists who carried out the murder is from Pakistan. Police and security teams have started a search operation in the area as soon as the incident was reported. According to the information received bythe police, the villagers tried to save the truck driver, but the terrorists also beat up the villagers and killed the truck driver.

According to the initial information received by the police,the terrorist organizations Hizbul Mujahideen and Jaish-e-Mohammed may be behind this incident. The police is currently investigating the case from all angles and is trying to extract secrets from those detained.
